Hurricane Preparedness 

We actively monitor storm activity using the Ventusky weather app along with local and national weather channels. All decisions are based on storm strength, projected path, and official guidance.

 

Protocol

Vacant Properties

  • ~6 days out: Vendor placed on standby

  • ~96 hours out: At our discretion, vendor is dispatched and property preparation begins

  • ~36 hours out: All fieldwork stops

These timeframes are approximate and may change based on storm intensity, forecast updates, and evacuation orders.

We prioritize the entire portfolio and execute preparation in a uniform, efficient manner. Individual property requests are not factored into operational decisions.

Occupied Properties

Tenants are responsible for deploying hurricane shutters when applicable (storm within ~100 miles or arrival within 72 hours) .

Communication

Communication and updates are streamlined and electronic during storm events.

We will provide universal updates as necessary. 

Individual responses may be delayed and considered lower priority. 

We routinely deny special exceptions or requests during these events.

Hurricane Services

What we do:

  • Monitor storms and make operational decisions

  • Coordinate vendors for property preparation

  • Inspect properties after the storm

  • Provide status updates and inspection photos when necessary

What we do not do:

  • Provide property-specific or custom storm services

  • Remain in the area during State of Emergency evacuation mandates

  • Become involved in insurance claims

  • Manage construction or repairs for storm damage
